FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2010 Characterized by Tremendous Industry Contributions, Show Floor Sales; Preparations for 2011 Underway
Dallas/November 1, 2010 – In the weeks since Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) concluded its first free-standing event, it continues to receive positive reviews from participants across the industry, retaining its position as a bellwether and benefactor of the industry. ASRW includes the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) and was held Oct. 10-13, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
“We extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the loyal vendors, attendees, speakers, participants and supporters for a solid 2010 event,” said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. “Thank you for the team effort that went into this year’s event. We look forward to another great event in 2011.”
“I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of attendance. Monday was a rush of people who were really interested in seeing and purchasing our products, and the rest of the show continued to bring serious buyers improving or adding facilities,” said NACE exhibitor Tim Morgan, CELETTE/Electron, Inc. “Both Celette and Elektron made sales on the floor, and have quality leads that will turn into sales right away and in the coming months. Plus it is always good to network and spend time with existing customers and other vendors. After all the hype over the date changes and timing format, I believe NACE was a success for us!”
"What a wonderful show! Coming back to NACE allows our Preval Spray Team a chance to reconnect with body shop owners all over the country.” commented NACE exhibitor Sammy Averbuch, Preval Sprayers. “Being a ‘Made in America’ product we appreciate a tradeshow like NACE, particularly in a city like Las Vegas."
In spite of the recession, and the uncertainty that repairers and their suppliers are facing, NACE and CARS have survived and will continue their contributions to the industry. ASRW 2010 brought a total attendance of 16,289 members of the automotive repair and service industry together for its week of events.
“Allstate Insurance Company and Sterling Autobody Centers led several NACE educational seminars throughout the week because of our strong desire to give back to the industry", stated Dan Risley, staff claims analyst, Allstate Insurance Company.
“I have been attending NACE since 1990 and have always enjoyed the inspirational general session speakers. However, this year was different. Kelly McDonald was not only a terrific speaker, but she gave real world information and tactics about running one’s business in today’s diverse marketplace. I left the session with quite a few takeaways and a breadth of knowledge, ”said ASRW speaker Karen Fierst, KerenOr Consultants.
The Automotive Service Association (ASA) will also continue its contributions to the industry. Just since 2004, more than 85,000 hours of instruction have been delivered to collision, mechanical and service repair professionals.
Additionally, organizations such as the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE); the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF); the Collision Repair Education Foundation; the Women’s Industry Network (WIN); the National Auto Body Council (NABC); and the Automotive Management Institute (AMI) as well as important initiatives like the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) and the Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG) are worthy recipients of financial support in recent years made possible by the revenues generated by NACE and CARS.
Preparations for ASRW 2011 are well underway with commitments for the following key events at next year’s show: ASRW Industry Forum, a general session with relevant business content, NACE Town Hall meeting, and an Association Leadership Summit. Additionally, NACE and CARS expect to release new show websites within the next few weeks.
